Chapter Officers

President: Dewitt M. Peart

Executive Vice President, Economic Development, Allegheny Conference on Community Development
President, Pittsburgh Regional Alliance, an affiliate of the Allegheny Conference

Dewitt Peart has worked in a variety of capacities in the private sector. Currently he is the executive vice president, economic development, at the Allegheny Conference on Community Development and president of the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance (PRA), the affiliate of Allegheny Conference which markets the Pittsburgh region nationally and internationally.

He has also served as the Greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce’s senior vice president of government affairs. In this capacity Dewitt provided oversight for the government affairs program managing multiple issues such as education, regulations, tax policy, transportation and other infrastructure issues at the federal, state and local levels.

Prior to his role at the Chamber, Dewitt was a co-founder and principal at Unitellus Site Strategies, Inc. This consulting firm specialized in land-use planning, strategic planning, feasibility analysis and marketing strategies for urban in-fill and large-scale industrial redevelopment projects.

Dewitt’s work in advocacy began in 2002 when he served as the executive director of the Regional Development Consortium, an unincorporated association of organizations whose members included the Greater Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and the Allegheny Conference on Community Development. His responsibilities included coordinating, advocating and facilitating activities to promote high-quality commercial development, which attract jobs and residents to southwestern Pennsylvania.

From 1988 to 2002 Dewitt has worked at various real estate development companies overseeing several phases of large-scale development projects including land-use planning, master planning, asset management, construction, property management and marketing. Dewitt is a member of the board of directors of the Pittsburgh chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP). He is also a member of the NAIOP national environment and infrastructure committee and chair of the NAIOP national Green Task Force.

A native of Pittsburgh, Dewitt has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting from Robert Morris University. He has a master’s degree in public management from Carnegie Mellon University.

Dewitt is married and has two adult children. He resides in Robinson Township.
